An Arya Samaj marriage is a Hindu wedding conducted following Vedic rituals as prescribed by the Arya Samaj reform movement. It is often simpler, rejects ritual excess, and is suitable for: 

• Hindu couples from any caste 
• Inter-caste Hindu marriages 
• Love marriages or re marriages 
• Situations where couples prefer minimal rituals 

While the Arya Samaj ritual is religiously valid, its certificate issued by the Mandir alone is not sufficient for legal and government formalities.  

To make the marriage legally valid, it must be registered under law—either under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 (for intra-Hindu couples) or under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 (for civil or interfaith couples).
